We had a very nice experience renting yukatas here. We made our reservation online in advance and rented one women’s and one men’s yukata from the regular, non-premium section. There was a really good selection of women’s yukatas, with lots of beautiful, bright and vibrant colors and patterns. The obi also had a nice variety of colors, while the men’s options were mostly in darker and more classic shades. We were both happy with our choices and really enjoyed wearing them around Kyoto. One thing to keep in mind is that many of the nicer-looking accessories and items are part of the premium selection and require an additional fee. This includes some yukatas, obi, hair accessories and even hair spray. There are also non-premium accessories available at no extra cost, but the selection is considerably smaller. We had the yukatas for around six hours. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy that day, and the traditional shoes were not particularly comfortable, so wearing everything for a full day might be challenging. However, this is more about the experience itself than the rental service. Overall, we were very satisfied with the rental, the selection and the whole experience. It was a lovely way to experience Kyoto and definitely made our day more special. I would recommend it, especially if you reserve online in advance.
